______________________________________________
Hartford, Connecticut
BioMedical Engineering Alliance & Consortium (BEACON)
announced today it has engaged Designing Events LLC, a
premier global conference planning company, to organize
and manage MEDi 2008, the foremost Northeast conference
and exhibition for the medical device and medical device
manufacturing industry. This partnership will result in
an event that brings together leaders in the industry,
offers demonstrations of new technology and provides
unparalleled educational opportunities.
Joseph Bronzino, president of BEACON, says with
enthusiasm that "MEDi 2008 is promising to be the most
comprehensive and informative event for the region's
burgeoning medical device and medical device
manufacturing industry. Hiring Designing Events assures
the more than 2,000 expected attendees that the
conference will be of the highest quality and value," he
added.
Designing Events has a proven track record as a provider
of planning and management for pharmaceutical, corporate
and association events, meetings and conferences.
Michelle Issing, president of Designing Events, says, "I
am pleased to be working with BEACON to bring
enhancements to its MEDi 2008 conference. We already
have a plan for making major improvements, using the
knowledge gained from the 2005 event and our own
extensive experience in managing and organizing events
like this one."
MEDi 2008, scheduled for Sept. 9 and 10, 2008, at the
Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Ct., will
feature leading and emerging researchers, designers and
developers of the medical device industry, as well as
physicians, surgeons and medical professionals. The
conference trade show will include exhibits from the
industry's major manufacturers and suppliers.
"Our research has shown that there is a growing need for
a regional medical device conference and exhibition that
focuses on the medical device and medical device
manufacturing industry and provides ample networking
opportunities. We will more than fulfill this need with
our educational programming and during our two-day
exhibition," says Bronzino.
The conference's educational content will be a
combination of high-quality scientific research data
with proven, validated industry case studies, strategies
for bringing new devices to market, manufacturing
issues, legal/regulatory issues and clinical
applications.
The trade show will highlight the latest advances in the
medical device and medical device manufacturing
industry, along with numerous demonstrations.
"With the help of Designing Events, which has organized
numerous informative and successful events worldwide, we
are creating a conference that will be highly
interactive for all attendees, from demonstrations of
equipment to ample opportunities to network," says
Bronzino. "MEDi 2008 will represent a major step forward
from previous events and be a revitalization of our plan
to organize and present MEDi conferences every other
year."
