MEDi 2008
Returns to Connecticut Convention Center, September 9-10
International Medical Device Industry to Meet in
Hartford for Conferences and 'Look Ahead'
______________________________________________
March 11, 2008, Hartford,
Connecticut
MEDi 2008, the most comprehensive medical
device conference and exhibition, will be held at the
new Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Tuesday
and Wednesday, September 9-10.
MEDi 2008 (www.MEDi2008.com)
will showcase the latest developments in nanomedicine,
drug delivery vehicles, drug/device combination
products, robotic surgery, orthopedic implants and
prosthetic devices, artificial organs and eHealth, while
also providing conferences addressing important issues
and business challenges related to the manufacture and
commercialization of these devices.
First held in 2005, the 2008 version of MEDi
has been designed by the BioMedical Engineering Alliance
& Consortium (BEACON,
www.BeaconAlliance.org) "to meet
the needs of an audience from beyond the I-91 corridor,
from throughout the U.S., and from overseas," said
Joseph Bronzino PhD, PE, president of BEACON and the
Vernon Roosa Professor of Applied Science at Trinity
College. "BEACON," said Dr. Bronzino, "working together
with a world-class Advisory Committee, has created a
conference program that is certain to bring value and
insight to all attendees."
Medical Device Industry Leaders in Conferences and on the Show Floor
"Leaders of the medical device industry will attend our
conference sessions and their companies will showcase
their latest innovations and products on our show
floor," Dr. Bronzino said.
"The medical device industry is growing at an
exponential pace, with technological advancements taking
place every day," he said. "It is essential for such an
industry to gather at one time in one place . . . and
that time and place in the Northeast will be MEDi
2008."
Dr. Bronzino said that the Hartford's Connecticut
Convention Center, which opened in 2005, "is an ideal
setting for MEDi 2008. It is the one of
the newest and most modern convention centers, is within
a two-hour drive from New York or Boston, and has
Bradley International Airport nearby. And in the fall,
everyone knows there is no prettier place to be than New
England," he said.
